Meet Your Guide

Walking the Path of Sacred Companionship

Rita Faruki is a lifelong student of the natural world who believes our deepest growth begins through sacred companionship with the Earth. After transitioning from a career in aerospace, she followed a calling to explore ancient wisdom, mindful practices, and the living intelligence found in nature. Through Sacred Earth Walks, she creates personalized guided nature experiences that invite people to slow down, deepen their awareness, and rediscover their relationship with themselves, the Earth, and all living beings.

Rita Faruki's Journey

Heritage and Healing

Her worldview is deeply shaped by her Palestinian-Irish roots. She shares a moving story about her father’s odyssey from Palestine to Egypt and his eventual return to his ancestral land decades later. This family history taught her about the power of memory, the necessity of persistence, and the healing that comes from "showing up" in person to find closure.

From the Peace Corps to the Navajo Nation

Rita’s path began after college when she joined the Peace Corps and was stationed in Morocco. This experience was foundational, teaching her resourcefulness and resiliency as she navigated a culture vastly different from her own. She later moved to the Navajo reservation at Rock Point, Arizona. It was here that she fell in love with the vast red-rock landscapes and the profound beauty of the desert sky, which eventually led her to settle in Sedona.

A Legacy of Stewardship

Rita's dedication to the Earth extends far beyond guiding others into nature—it has inspired lasting conservation. While living near Wyoming's iconic Red Butte, she united a diverse group of neighboring landowners around a shared vision: protecting the land they loved from future development. Through years of collaboration, perseverance, and community leadership, the Red Butte Landowner Coalition permanently conserved more than 1,000 acres of critical wildlife habitat, creating a vital migration corridor for elk, mule deer, pronghorn, and countless other species. The project has since been recognized as a model of grassroots conservation, demonstrating how people from different backgrounds can come together to protect what matters most.

Sacred Earth Walks

Today, Rita integrates decades of study in shamanism, energy healing, and indigenous wisdom into her practice. She views the Earth as a "school" where the lessons never truly end. Her guided walks and retreats aren't just about hiking; they are about "mapping consciousness." By using a living medicine wheel on the land in Arizona, she helps clients recognize that they are part of a vast, invisible tapestry where thoughts and intentions actively shape reality.
